Abstract: The article focuses on the challenges faced by Asian American twice-exceptional (AA2E) students, who possess both gifts and disabilities, often exacerbated by misconceptions and stereotypes within educational systems. It highlights the impact of the model minority myth, which can lead to misidentification and misunderstanding of these students' needs, as illustrated through the cases of three AA2E students: Hanna, Tan, and Norah. The authors provide strategies for educators to better support AA2E students by acknowledging the diversity within the Asian American community, understanding family dynamics related to immigration, and addressing mental health needs.
