Abstract: Individuals with intellectual disabilities lack cognitive and adaptive functioning. At the university level, inclusive postsecondary education programs have emerged for individuals with intellectual disabilities by delivering valuable outcomes such as independent living, socialization, employment, and so forth. This study explored the perceptions of students regarding inclusive higher education within sport event management. Students in an inclusive postsecondary education program and students enrolled in a sport event management class collectively conceptualized, planned, and managed a sporting event. Upon completion of the event, students participated in focus groups. The data revealed four themes: autonomy, relationship building, we need more, and opportunities. The results of this study show the importance of collaborative practices that promote inclusion in sport management education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
