Abstract: The article focuses on the implementation of formative team vivas in an undergraduate medical anatomy program to enhance anatomical communication skills among students. Traditional assessments, primarily multiple-choice questions (MCQs), were found inadequate for evaluating these skills, leading to the introduction of team vivas that encourage collaborative learning and practical demonstration of knowledge. The study identified common pitfalls in students' anatomical communication, such as incorrect terminology and failure to orient to anatomical positions, which could impact patient care. The findings suggest that reintroducing vivas, coupled with structured feedback, can effectively support the development of essential communication skills in medical education.
