Abstract: An editorial is presented which expresses the views of Teresa Schultz and Sarah Rose Fitzgerald on the need to improve peer reviewer guidelines at College & Research Libraries (C&RL) to ensure rigorous, transparent, and equitable scholarly evaluation. Topics include training and guidance for peer reviewers (career, professional development), reviewing conceptual and DEI-related research (career, methodological rigor), and enhancing transparency and fairness in peer review processes.
