Abstract: Annette Gough's contributions to environmental education research are rooted in a set of principles and guidelines summed up by the phrase 'less partial and less distorted.' The author outlines Gough's use of this term and her subsequent principles for environmental education research that serve to invite critical reflections as well as new contributions in the field. Tracing his own work through these principles and Gough's commitments to (eco)feminist poststructuralism, the author outlines both convergent and divergent theoretical threads, ultimately encouraging others to engage more deeply with Gough's scholarship for the continued improvement of environmental education practice and research.
