Abstract: The article examines the emergence of the science fiction (SF) slasher subgenre, which integrates metaphysical and fantastic elements into traditional slasher films. It highlights how recent films like *The Final Girls*, *Freaky*, *Happy Death Day*, and *Totally Killer* challenge conventional slasher tropes by introducing innovative narrative structures, such as time loops and identity swaps, while also maintaining the core dynamics of the Final Girl and Killer relationship. The analysis emphasizes the genre's ability to critique societal norms and explore themes of grief, nostalgia, and identity, suggesting that the SF slasher revitalizes the slasher genre by blending horror with science fiction elements.
