| Abstract: | This study examines the effectiveness of conscientization learning models in fostering awareness of Javanese as a mother tongue among elementary school students in Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study involved 150 elementary school students from East Java, Indonesia. Pretest and post-test assessments, observations, and interviews to evaluate students' linguistic awareness, attitude, and practical use of Javanese. The findings reveal that students in the experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in their awareness and appreciation of Javanese compared to the control group. Additionally, the model encouraged a deeper understanding of cultural identity and the importance of preserving regional languages. The study concludes that the conscientization learning model is an effective approach to instill language awareness and cultural pride among young learners. Recommendations include integrating this model into school curricula and promoting community engagement to support language preservation efforts. IMPACT STATEMENT: The Javanese language, as one of Indonesia's most widely spoken regional languages, faces challenges in preservation due to the increasing dominance of Indonesian and foreign languages. This study explores the effectiveness of the Conscientization Learning Model in enhancing elementary school students' awareness of Javanese as their mother tongue. By fostering critical awareness, this model encourages students to recognize the cultural and linguistic significance of Javanese, ultimately promoting its active use in daily communication.
