Abstract: People proved guilty of crimes are punished and reformed by prison sentences. Convicts are assigned mostly manual labour, for which they receive pitiful compensation. Additionally, they receive vocational training to aid them carry out delegated activities. Once released, they are unprepared for civil society's animosity and rejection. Most of them get dragged back into the web of crime. Corporations need individuals who can profitably contribute to and help them keep up with fierce competition. It becomes extremely challenging for the inmate to get acceptance and employment, and raises concerns on the sustainability aspects in Civic Society post release. Hence the current study aimed to make the inmates ready to combat these challenges. Computer Training was imparted for their social reintegration in the Prisons in Maharashtra. This report examined the different training and rehabilitation programs implemented in Maharashtra's jail system. In the methodology, Purposive sampling method was used since it involves the detailed investigation of prisoner's rehabilitation and vocational training in India. There were three batches of inmates who had undergone the training across all the prisons. Batch sizes varied as per the requirements for the training and were therefore 8, 10, and 14 respectively. For the study, samples were drawn from the inmates who were closer to their release from the Prison. Thus, purposive sampling was used for imparting computer-based trainings. Data was collected through a mixed methods approach. The findings showed that the computer-based trainings were viewed very positively both by the prisoners as also in the focused group discussion and were regarded as necessary for better reintegration into civil society post release. Researchers advocate vocational training and rehabilitation strategies based on their detailed examination of prison programs, company readiness to hire ex-convicts, comments from NGOs, and prisoners themselves. These measures will lead to a more inclusive, egalitarian, and sustainable society. Public interest statement: Individuals convicted of crimes are usually sentenced to prison. Most of the time, prisoners are given manual labour assignments for which they are paid very little. They are given occupational training to help them carry out their tasks. However, once released, they are ill-equipped to handle the hostility of civil society. For survival, the majority turn to criminal activity. Companies, on the other hand, require people who can contribute profitably and assist in staying competitive. This study entitled Sustainability through Computer Based Training for Social Reintegration of Maharashtra Prisoners looked at the rehabilitation and training initiatives put in place in Maharashtra's jails. The report recommends specific vocational training and rehabilitation techniques based on an in-depth analysis of prison programs, business willingness to recruit ex-offenders, and feedback from non-governmental organisations and inmates. As a result, society will be better, more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable. The study promotes SDGs like 1,8,10, & 16 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
