Abstract: The article focuses on reexamining the language of "information use" in the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Framework by arguing for the explicit recognition of reading and readers within information literacy instruction. Topics include the relationship between critical reading traditions and information literacy, the differences between expert and novice reading practices, and the pedagogical value of framing information consumption as reflective, and interpretive reading.
