Abstract: In this colloquium, we will present six years of collaborative research on approximations of practice in mathematics teacher education, exploring how these approximations shape teacher preparation and addressing issues of equity and authenticity in instructional design. Foci include past findings, current challenges, and future directions, drawing from the recently published book edited by the colloquium leaders: Promoting Equity in Approximations of Practice for Mathematics Teachers. Participants will engage in critical conversations on bridging research and practice, with opportunities to join ongoing collaborations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
