Abstract: well-being is a concept that integrates quality of life and is related to happiness and the experience of pleasure. Thus, older adults' use of ICTs favors physical and mental activity, enables new social relationships, and allows for richer mental construction. Besides, motivation toward ICTs depends on the desire to learn how to use ICTs and the need to feel useful and remain integrated in society. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effect of older adults' psychological well-being on their motivation toward ICTs, mediated by their technological anxiety and their perceptions of the usefulness of ICTs. The research involved 356 older Spanish adults, aged between 63 and 97, of whom 234 were women and 122 were men. For data collection, the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale, the Technology Anxiety Scale, the Opinion Scale on the Usefulness of ICTs, and the ICT Motivation Scale were applied. A partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was applied to analyze the data. The results indicated that psychological well-being correlates negatively with technological anxiety and positively with usefulness and motivation toward ICTs. Likewise, technological anxiety correlates negatively with the usefulness of and motivation toward ICTs, and ICT usefulness positively correlates with ICT motivation. Finally, technological anxiety and the usefulness of ICTs have a mediating effect on the relationship between psychological well-being and motivation toward ICTs. Strategies are proposed to promote favorable attitudes toward using ICTs, thus facilitating the maintenance of older adults' social support networks and contributing to a healthy life in old age.
