| Abstract: | The purpose of this research was to examine the teachers' perceptions of the efficacy of the competence-based curriculum in equipping Ordinary Level Learners with entrepreneurship skills. The study adopted a mixed methods approach embedded in a pragmatic paradigm and utilised the convergent mixed methods design or strategy of inquiry. The data generation process followed the use of a structured questionnaire for the quantitative data collection and the use of an unstructured questionnaire for the generation of the qualitative data from a total sample size of 21 participants or respondents identified from a population of Business Studies Enterprise Skills Secondary school teachers. As the research sought to explore the main research question of how competent is the Business Enterprise Skills syllabus or content in equipping learners with entrepreneurship skills? the sampling techniques adopted involved both probability or random and non-probability or purposeful sampling in a bid to accommodate the dictates of both the quantitative and qualitative research facets. Deploying Kirzer's theory of Entrepreneurship alertness as the theoretical framework, the key findings included that while the Business Enterprise Skills syllabus content was competent enough to equip learners with entrepreneurial skills, the possession of these skills serves as a necessary condition for easing the level of unemployment prevalent in the country. Among the key recommendations of this study was that government should prioritise the provision of adequate material and financial resources to schools so that there is efficient teaching and learning as well as the effective application of the business entrepreneurial skills.
