Abstract (English): This study analyzes the grammatical availability of two major word classes in 10- and 11-yearold children and examines how it differs from that of young adults. A written lexical-availability test was administered to fifth-grade students using the grammatical prompts Nouns and Verbs. Results show that children produce more words than adults (36.96 nouns vs. 24.12; 23.7 verbs vs. 15.93). At a qualitative level, children generate fewer common nouns and more underived nouns, while both groups share a similar verb profile (predicative, transitive, non-pronominal). However, children produce more achievement verbs, suggesting greater sensitivity to telicity. Lexical networks reveal clear semantic differences: in the child sample, school-related nouns and verbs describing leisure, movement, and intellectual activity are predominant. These findings provide the first characterization of grammatical availability in Spanish-speaking children and offer new insights for the study of the lexicon during early stages of development.
