| Abstract: | This article presents an analysis on the humanities and the mass media in relation to the high school education in the U.S. Mass communication techniques justify optimism because they make available to all the classics of the past and present. The movies are one of the great art forms of the twentieth century, yet less than fifty colleges offer courses in the appreciation of films. Film reviews and movie criticisms provide the teachers with models for developing standards. The discussions of popular arts are natural for developing standards in art for the students |
