| Abstract (English): | The panel “Challenges of Teacher Training from a Biocultural Perspective,” held during the VIII Earth Planet Week organized by the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC), addressed contemporary challenges in teacher education from an approach that integrates culture, territory, and nature. Experts from Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia discussed the need to move beyond traditional educational models to promote environmentally conscious citizenship and a critical pedagogy that recognizes ancestral knowledge and socio-territorial realities. The importance of rethinking curricula and pedagogical practices in natural sciences was emphasized, fostering intercultural dialogue and epistemic justice from the epistemologies of the South. The event strengthened Latin American academic ties and proposed teacher training as an ethical, political, and territorial process in response to the current environmental crisis.
