Abstract (English): The vocational guidance as an educational process seeks to advise students with information that allows them to connect their skills, interests and professional preferences with their meaning in life, also providing inputs to identify and assess their impact in various contexts: training, work and economic. The purpose of this research is to develop a critical synthesis of the scientific literature on vocational guidance processes with a view to discovering study trends in terms of problems, theories, dimensions, philosophical approaches, methods and findings; moving the frontiers of knowledge with a structured approach using systematic review methodology. The findings show the methodological tendency of the studies towards the qualitative approach, although evidence of significant quantitative and mixed studies. There was a tendency to treat clinical, psychological, non-psychological, and comprehensive theories in the study of selfknowledge, traits, personality, and decisionmaking. Also noteworthy, on the frontier of knowledge, is the trend towards proposals for the design and implementation of digital tools, new information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, managing the orientation process in a context of ecomplexity. However, a referential gap was detected in the consideration of studies taking into account the perspectives of vocational influence of the family-school-individual triad, as well as little attention to the sociophenomenological approach as a theoretical model; Therefore, the development of studies concerning and addressing vocational guidance processes through the strengthening of personal identity is suggested.
