Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine research on critical and creative thinking in the field of education within the framework of the concepts of skills, abilities, and competencies, and to conduct a bibliometric analysis of these studies. For this purpose, a search was conducted in the Web of Science database on March 9, 2025, using the keywords ("creative thinking" and "critical thinking") and ("skills" or "abilities" or "competencies"). Based on the search results, the retrieved studies were subjected to specific inclusion criteria, and ultimately, a bibliometric analysis was carried out on 149 articles. The R-Studio program was chosen to perform the analyses. Within the scope of the study, the distribution of research on critical and creative thinking types over the years, the authors and journals with the most publications, the citation status of authors and countries, international collaboration networks, and prominent themes were examined. The results show that academic output in this field has gained momentum over the past 10 years, with studies being conducted more intensively in certain countries. Based on the findings obtained, this study is considered to have the potential to serve as a guiding resource for future research in the field of critical and creative thinking.
