Abstract: The development of computational thinking and entrepreneurship skills is important for environmental sustainability. In this study, the 2E-STEM (Environmental + Entrepreneurship–Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) idea for solving environmental problems from a practice-based, innovative and integrated perspective is presented. The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of (robotics-supported engineering design-based) 2E-STEM education on computational thinking and entrepreneurship and ultimately to determine how the approach affects environmental education. In an 11-week experimental study, a study group consisting of senior preservice science teachers (N = 57) in Türkiye was examined. The computational thinking scale, entrepreneurship scale, activity papers, project result reports and project review form were used as instruments. Descriptive analysis, independent-samples t tests, ANCOVAs and MANCOVAs were used for analysis. The effectiveness of the educational process was assessed through comparisons of pretest–posttest scores and control group–experimental group scores. It was determined that the educational process was statistically effective in developing computational thinking and entrepreneurship skills. An educational process that supports these skills provides preservice teachers with concrete experience in understanding and solving environmental problems, promoting environmental sustainability and ultimately addressing sustainable development in all its dimensions (environmental, economic, social). The study offers insight into how computational thinking and entrepreneurship processes can interact in robotics-supported engineering design-based 2E-STEM education and how to devise education that promotes a sustainable environment.
