Abstract (English): Artificial intelligence is a scientific discipline that deals with the construction of intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. One of the areas of great relevance for the use of artificial intelligence is healthcare. In this context, the objective of this research was to map and analyze the scientific production on artificial intelligence in healthcare, to understand how research in this area is developing in different parts of the world. This is an exploratory-descriptive study, with a quantitative approach. The method used was the Consolidated Meta-Analytic Approach Theory. The data were collected from the Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science databases, and analyzed using bibliometric techniques. The corpus consisted of 53 articles, published between 2018 and 2023. The results indicate a non-linearity in scientific production on the topic, marked by initial expansion, slight intermediate contraction, and rapid recovery. These articles were published in 35 different journals, predominantly the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and together they total 2,644 citations, with the most cited article representing 19.10% of the total citations. A total of 304 authors were identified, of which 47% published in co-authorship. The country with the largest number of publications is the United Kingdom. Keyword occurrences analysis points to seven clusters of terms, with the term "artificial intelligence" predominating, followed by "health care" and "machine learning. The data also highlight the diversity and complexity of the topics addressed in research on artificial intelligence in healthcare, involving not only technological development, but also technical, ethical, institutional, social, and political aspects that are interrelated. In conclusion, the research objective was achieved, as it presents the configuration of scientific production on artificial intelligence in health and offers important insights to guide researchers, managers, funding agencies, and policymakers interested in this topic. Abstract (Portuguese): Inteligência artificial é uma disciplina científica que se preocupa com a construção de máquinas inteligentes, especialmente programas de computador inteligentes. Uma das áreas de grande relevância para seu uso é a da saúde. Nesse contexto, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi mapear e analisar a produção científica recente sobre inteligência artificial na saúde, a fim de compreender como as pesquisas nessa área estão se desenvolvendo em diferentes partes do mundo. Este é um estudo exploratório-descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa. O método empregado foi o da Teoria do Enfoque Meta Analítico Consolidado. Os dados foram coletados nas bases de dados Pubmed, Scopus e Web of Science, e uma análise bibliométrica fori realizada. A amostra foi constituída por 53 artigos, publicados entre 2018 a 2023. Os resultados mostram uma não linearidade da produção científica sobre o tema, marcada por expansão inicial, leve retração intermediária e rápida recuperação. Esses artigos foram publicados em 35 periódicos distintos, com predominância do Journal of Medical Internet Research, e juntos somam 2.644 citações, sendo que o mais citado representa 19,10% do total de citações. Foram identificados 304 autores, dos quais 47% publicam em coautoria. O país com maior número de publicações é Reino Unido. A análise de ocorrência de palavras-chave aponta para sete clusters de termos, com predomínio do termo artificial intelligence, seguido de health care e machine learning. Os dados evidenciam ainda a diversidade e complexidade dos temas abordados nas pesquisas sobre inteligência artificial na saúde, envolvendo não apenas desenvolvimento tecnológico, mas aspectos técnicos, éticos, institucionais, sociais e políticos, que se inter-relacionam. Conclui-se que o objetivo da pesquisa foi alcançado, pois apresenta a configuração da produção científica sobre inteligência artificial na saúde e oferece importantes subsídios para orientar pesquisadores, gestores, agências de fomento e formuladores de políticas interessados nessa temática.
