Abstract (English): Networks are ubiquitous and exert their influence across multiple levels of educational practice and governance. Drawing on past and current developments in the field, this article explores key discourses on networking before analyzing different theoretical approaches and their underlying assumptions. While adult education has traditionally been informed by a social-scientific understanding of networks, recent developments reveal an increasing entanglement with functional-technical and economic network concepts. This development raises important questions for the future professionalization and strategic shaping of networks in adult education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
