| Abstract (English): | Students with special education needs experience the greatest difficulty with reading. Thus, the present study aimed to determine the readability of the texts in the Adapted Activities for Special Students Social Studies Supplementary Textbook (Volumes 1, 2, and 3), assess whether these books were adequate for the students' level, and evaluate consistency with the readability formulas developed for the Turkish language. The present study is descriptive. The study investigated the readability of the Adapted Activities for Special Students Social Studies Supplementary Textbook. The texts were analyzed using the Ateşman and Çetinkaya readability formulas. The Sönmez readability formula was also applied to individuals with mild intellectual disabilities to identify the words in the texts that were not recognized and to conduct knowledge tests. In the study, it was determined that the readability levels of the texts were at medium difficulty according to the Ateşman formula. According to the Çetinkaya formula, Volume 1 and Volume 3 were at the educational reading level, while Volume 2 was at the inadequate reading level. According to the Sönmez formula, the texts were comprehensible, but the students did not respond to them at the expected level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
| Abstract (Turkish): | Özel eğitim gereksinimi olan öğrenciler okumada en fazla güçlüğü çeken öğrencilerdir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada, Özel Öğrenciler İçin Uyarlanmış Etkinlikler Sosyal Bilgiler Ek Ders Kitabı'ndaki (1., 2. ve 3. ciltler) metinlerin okunabilirliği ve bu kitapların öğrenci düzeyine uygun olup olmadığı, Türkçe için geliştirilen okunabilirlik formülleriyle tutarlı olup olmadığı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma betimsel bir çalışmadır. Bu çalışmada, Özel Öğrenciler İçin Uyarlanmış Etkinlikler Sosyal Bilgiler Ek Ders Kitabı'nın okunabilirliği incelenmiştir. Metinler Ateşman ve Çetinkaya okunabilirlik formüllerine göre analiz edilmiştir. Hafif düzeyde zihinsel yetersizliği olan bireylere de Sönmez okunabilirlik formülü uygulanarak metinlerdeki tanınmayan kelimeler tespit edilmiş ve bilgi testleri uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda metinlerin okunabilirlik düzeylerinin Ateşman formülüne göre orta zorlukta, 1. ve 3. cildin eğitimsel okuma düzeyinde, 2. cildin ise Çetinkaya formülüne göre yetersiz okuma düzeyinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sönmez formülüne göre metinlerin anlaşılır olduğu ancak öğrencilerin metinlere beklenen düzeyde tepki vermediği görülmüştür. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
