Abstract (English): The objective of the study was to determine the correlation between emotional self-regulation techniques and interpersonal conflict resolution among students in Milagro Canton during 2026. The scope of the research focused on analyzing the relationship between emotional recognition, impulse control, and emotional expression with interpersonal relationships and peaceful conflict resolution in the school context. The methodology followed a quantitative approach, basic type, associative correlational level, and non-experimental design. The population consisted of 35 students, and the sample included 30 students. A checklist developed from the dimensions and indicators of the variables was used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument reached a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.950, showing an excellent level of internal consistency. In addition, the normality test showed a significance value greater than 0.05; therefore, Pearson’s correlation was applied. The results showed a very high positive correlation between emotional recognition and interpersonal conflict resolution, with r = .833; between impulse control and interpersonal relationships, with r = .918; and between emotional expression and interpersonal relationships, with r = .890. In all cases, the significance level was p = .000 < .01. It was concluded that emotional self-regulation techniques were significantly related to interpersonal conflict resolution; therefore, the research hypothesis was accepted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la correlación entre las técnicas de autorregulación emocional y la resolución de conflictos interpersonales en estudiantes del cantón Milagro, durante el año 2026. El alcance de la investigación se centró en analizar la relación entre el reconocimiento emocional, el control de impulsos y la expresión emocional con las relaciones interpersonales y la resolución pacífica de conflictos en el contexto escolar. La metodología fue de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básica, nivel correlacional asociativo y diseño no experimental. La población estuvo conformada por 35 estudiantes y la muestra por 30 estudiantes. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó una lista de cotejo elaborada a partir de las dimensiones e indicadores de las variables. La confiabilidad del instrumento alcanzó un Alfa de Cronbach de 0,950, evidenciando un nivel excelente de consistencia interna. Además, la prueba de normalidad presentó un valor de significancia mayor a 0,05, por lo que se aplicó la correlación de Pearson. Los resultados mostraron una correlación positiva muy alta entre reconocimiento emocional y resolución de conflictos interpersonales, con r =,833; entre control de impulsos y relaciones interpersonales, con r =,918; y entre expresión emocional y relaciones interpersonales, con r =,890. En todos los casos, la significancia fue p =,000 < 0,01. Se concluyó que las técnicas de autorregulación emocional se relacionaron significativamente con la resolución de conflictos interpersonales, por lo que se aceptó la hipótesis investigativa. Abstract (Portuguese): O objetivo do estudo foi determinar a correlação entre as técnicas de autorregulação emocional e a resolução de conflitos interpessoais em estudantes do cantão Milagro, durante o ano de 2026. O alcance da pesquisa concentrou-se em analisar a relação entre o reconhecimento emocional, o controle de impulsos e a expressão emocional com as relações interpessoais e a resolução pacífica de conflitos no contexto escolar. A metodologia adotou uma abordagem quantitativa, de tipo básica, nível correlacional associativo e desenho não experimental. A população foi composta por 35 estudantes, e a amostra por 30 estudantes. Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se uma lista de verificação elaborada a partir das dimensões e indicadores das variáveis.
