Abstract (English): The study determined the relationship between symbolic visualization and the understanding of algebraic patterns among students of Upper Basic General Education at Unidad Educativa Técnico Ecuador, Quito, 2026. It analyzed how students interpret visual configurations, numerical sequences, tables, and mathematical signs to recognize regularities, establish correspondences, and formalize algebraic generalizations. The research was basic, quantitative, non-experimental, and had an associative correlational scope. The population consisted of 155 students, and the sample included 44 participants selected through nonprobabilistic convenience sampling. Data were collected through a survey using a 24-item questionnaire structured into two variables and assessed with a five-point Likert scale. Reliability reached a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.914. The results showed high positive correlations between the dimensions of symbolic visualization and the understanding of algebraic patterns, highlighting an overall relationship of r = 0.858. It is concluded that symbolic visualization strengthens algebraic reasoning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): El estudio determinó la relación entre la visualización simbólica y la comprensión de patrones algebraicos en estudiantes de Educación General Básica Superior de la Unidad Educativa Técnico Ecuador, Quito, 2026. Se analizó cómo el estudiantado interpreta configuraciones visuales, secuencias numéricas, tablas y signos matemáticos para reconocer regularidades, establecer correspondencias y formalizar generalizaciones algebraicas. La investigación fue básica, cuantitativa, no experimental y de alcance correlacional asociativo. La población estuvo conformada por 155 estudiantes y la muestra por 44 participantes, seleccionados mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Se aplicó una encuesta mediante un cuestionario de 24 ítems, estructurado en dos variables y valorado con escala Likert de cinco niveles. La confiabilidad alcanzó un Alfa de Cronbach de 0,914. Los resultados evidenciaron correlaciones positivas altas entre las dimensiones de visualización simbólica y la comprensión de patrones algebraicos, destacando relación general r = 0,858. Analisou-se como os estudantes interpretam configurações visuais, sequências numéricas, tabelas e signos matemáticos para reconhecer regularidades, estabelecer correspondências e formalizar generalizações algébricas. A pesquisa foi básica, quantitativa, não experimental e de alcance correlacional associativo. A população foi composta por 155 estudantes e a amostra por 44 participantes, selecionados por meio de amostragem não probabilística por conveniência. Foi aplicado um questionário de 24 itens, estruturado em duas variáveis e avaliado com escala Likert de cinco níveis. A confiabilidade alcançou um Alfa de Cronbach de 0,914.
