Abstract (English): This study aimed to determine the correlation between interpersonal relationships and social behavior in young people in the Paute canton in 2026. The study employed a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, correlational design. The population consisted of eighth grade students from a public school in the Paute canton, and a sample of 15 students was selected using non-probability convenience sampling. Data was collected using a structured survey based on the Likert scale. The instrument's reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha, yielding an index of 0.954, considered excellent. The results showed a strong positive correlation between interpersonal relationships and social behavior (r = 0.776; p < 0.01), demonstrating that personal skills, self-awareness, and self-management significantly influence students' social interaction and behavior. It is concluded that strengthening interpersonal relationships fosters holistic, emotional, and social development within the educational context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la correlación entre las relaciones interpersonales y el comportamiento social en los jóvenes del cantón Paute, 2026. El estudio se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental y alcance correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por estudiantes de octavo año de Educación General Básica de una institución fiscal del cantón Paute, seleccionándose una muestra de 15 estudiantes mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó una encuesta estructurada bajo la escala de Likert. La confiabilidad del instrumento fue evaluada mediante el Alfa de Cronbach, obteniéndose un índice de 0.954, considerado de excelente confiabilidad. Los resultados evidenciaron una correlación positiva alta entre las relaciones interpersonales y el comportamiento social (r = 0.776; p < 0.01), demostrando que las competencias personales, la conciencia de uno mismo y la autogestión influyen significativamente en la convivencia y el comportamiento social de los estudiantes. Se oncluye que el fortalecimiento de las relaciones interpersonales favorece el desarrollo integral, emocional y social dentro del contexto educativo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Portuguese): Este estudo teve como objetivo determinar a correlação entre relacionamentos interpessoais e comportamento social em jovens do cantão de Paute em 2026. O estudo empregou uma abordagem quantitativa, com um delineamento correlacional não experimental. A população foi composta por alunos do oitava série de uma escola pública do cantão de Paute, e uma amostra de 15 alunos foi selecionada por meio de amostragem de conveniência não probabilística. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário estruturado baseado na escala Likert. A confiabilidade do instrumento foi avaliada pelo alfa de Cronbach, obtendo-se um índice de 0,954, considerado excelente. Os resultados mostraram uma forte correlação positiva entre relacionamentos interpessoais e comportamento social (r = 0,776; p < 0,01), demonstrando que habilidades pessoais, autoconhecimento e autogestão influenciam significativamente a interação e o comportamento social dos alunos.
