| Abstract (English): | The research was conducted with high school students, specifically those enrolled in the subjects of Computer Science II and Mathematics IV from the second and fourth semesters of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ). Participants were invited to express their perception of the concept of "culture of peace," as well as their opinions, considering that this topic has resurfaced in the university setting. In addition, a survey was administered to investigate whether students were familiar with the topic, whether they knew the values necessary to promote a culture of peace, and how to foster it. The main objective was to identify whether students knew the strategies needed to promote and maintain a culture of peace as respect both in the classroom and within the student community. This information would serve as a basis for designing or adjusting strategies to strengthen this culture within the group and the school as a whole. The methodology was mixed. In the first stage, students were asked to write their personal reflections on the topic, and subsequently, a survey was administered. The data obtained were analyzed comparatively and descriptively. The results showed that the students are unsure whether a culture of peace is promoted at school or whether conflict resolution strategies are implemented, even though they are familiar with the concept. This is due to the economic and social inequalities that exist within the school. On the other hand, the participating students are aware of the importance of self-knowledge and self-acceptance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
