| Abstract (English): | Objective: interculturality in higher education is essential in multicultural contexts such as Lima, where ethnic and cultural diversity is significant. This study aims to describe how the Faculty of Education of a private university in Lima is integrating interculturality in the training of its students with the aim of preparing future educators to work effectively in culturally diverse environments. Methodology: this research follows a qualitative descriptive approach, in which in-depth interviews were conducted with 5 teachers and 15 students from the first, third and fifth cycles, complemented by a documentary analysis of the syllabuses of general training subjects during the 2024-1 cycle. The data were analyzed using thematic study techniques. Results: it was revealed that, although initiatives such as specific courses have been implemented, certain significant challenges persist. Students have improved their understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, as well as their ability to apply intercultural principles in the classroom; However, the lack of transversality in the inclusion of these contents throughout the curriculum and the need for more practical experiences and resources were identified as barriers. Conclusions: although notable efforts have been made, a more comprehensive and sustained approach is required for intercultural training to be truly effective and transversal in all aspects of the curriculum. | Abstract (Spanish): | Objetivo: la interculturalidad en la educación superior es esencial en contextos multiculturales como el de Lima, donde la diversidad étnica y cultural es significativa. Este estudio se orienta a describir cómo la Facultad de Educación de una universidad privada de Lima integra la interculturalidad en la formación de sus estudiantes con el propósito de preparar a futuros educadores para trabajar eficazmente en entornos culturalmente diversos. Metodología: esta investigación obedece a un enfoque cualitativo descriptivo, en la cual se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad a 5 docentes y 15 estudiantes de primer, tercer y quinto ciclo, complementadas con un análisis documental de los sílabos de las asignaturas de formación general durante el ciclo 2024-1. Los datos fueron analizados mediante técnicas de estudio temático. Resultados: se reveló que, aunque se han implementado iniciativas como cursos específicos, persisten ciertos desafíos significativos. Los estudiantes han mejorado su comprensión y aprecio por la diversidad cultural, así como su capacidad para aplicar principios interculturales en el aula; sin embargo, la falta de transversalidad en la inclusión de estos contenidos a lo largo del currículo y la necesidad de más experiencias prácticas y recursos, fueron identificadas como barreras. Conclusiones: aunque se han hecho esfuerzos notables, se requiere un enfoque más integral y sostenido para que la formación intercultural sea verdaderamente efectiva y transversal en todos los aspectos del currículo.
