Abstract: This editorial introduces the June 2026 edition of *Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning*, which focuses on diverse research addressing inequalities and support mechanisms in higher education (HE). Key topics include barriers faced by under-represented groups such as working-class young men, Black postgraduate research students, and medical students encountering micro-aggressions, as well as initiatives like outreach programs, wellbeing integration in curricula, and relational mentoring.
