| Abstract: | The topics parents talk about with their adolescent sexual minority male (ASMM), and the factors of parent-adolescent sex communication from the parents' perspective are currently understudied. The purpose of this study was to examine the proportion and factors of parental communication about four different sexual health domains with their ASMM: sexual risk, biomedical prevention, relational, and expression. Parents across the United States (n = 115) completed an online cross-sectional survey in March 2023. We used a series of multiple logistic regressions to examine the associations between topic discussion and demographic and attitudinal correlates. More parents reported discussing sexual risk topics (e.g., condoms, HIV/AIDS and other STIs) than relational, expression, and biomedical prevention topics. Two common factors across sexual health domains were that cisgender women were more likely than cisgender men to have sexual health conversations with their ASMM, and those with more positive attitudes toward sexual health communication were more likely to have these conversations.
