Abstract: Building on Ellaway and Wyatt's commentary, we discuss the role of critical consciousness, the reflective awareness of social, cultural, and power structures that shape practice, in fostering resistance that remains faithful to the core values of the profession. We argue that legitimate professional resistance requires an orientation toward transforming the social and structural conditions that produce inequality and harm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
