Abstract (English): The project on visual anthropology and digital tools in Rumiñahui focuses on photography as a cultural document and as a means to understand the historical, social and urban changes of the canton. From photographic archives donated by the Páez family to the Rumiñahui Museum, images are recognized that show traditions, celebrations and transformations of the city, strengthening the collective memory and identity of the community. The study uses both visual interpretation and historical contextualization, and also includes a virtual tour that opens this visual archive to more people and promotes its social importance and use. Thus, the work goes beyond academic interest and becomes a support for preserving and sharing culture, showing the value of photography as a source of learning and memory. In addition, the project provides theoretical and practical bases for future research on photographic archives in Latin America, highlighting how digitalization and new technologies help to preserve identity and transmit people's memory.
