| Abstract: |
Interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) improve healthcare quality and safety and are important components of optometric education. In August 2020, the 25 member institutions and associate members of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry were surveyed to increase understanding of their IPECP efforts. The 2020 survey results indicated that implementation trends had stabilized, and IPECP was becoming increasingly important, consistent with earlier survey findings. Barriers to development and integration - including lack of time, interest, funding and scheduling difficulties - continue to persist.
