| Abstract: | The article presents the concept of patriotism from the perspective of a Canadian citizen. The author states that Canadian philosopher John Ralston Saul characterizes Canadian nationalism as the compromise between the three founding peoples: French, English and First Nations. Canada is proud to be a diverse society that has welcomed more immigrants than any other western nation.
