Abstract: The article suggests the development of an aspirational code of professional ethics for adult education as the best demonstration of efficient practice. The profession needs to take a more developmental and proactive role in the creation of ethical norms for the profession of adult education. Adult educators need to understand the causes of their dilemma in order to develop a sense of moral responsibility and commitment to their profession. It is asserted that ethics generated from individual beliefs and values is limited in terms of ensuring consistent high-quality ethical practices across the profession.
