Abstract: The article provides information on the results of a study conducted among fourth grade classroom participants from Midwestern suburban elementary school in Ohio on the significance of friendship collaborations to writing classroom. Students can write productively when they can personally choose with whom and where they want to work. They came to depend lesser on the teacher and behaved in predictable ways.
