| Abstract: | The article discusses pressure groups and its role in public education. A pressure group is consists of a number of persons with a common interest and has amalgated their forces in order to reach a common goal. These groups also determine the curricula in public schools. The influence of pressure groups in public education could not be prevented since public schools are publicly supported and controlled. Most pressure groups from the past years are interested in the Negro minority groups. The pressure groups demanded a balanced treatment of the Negro contributions in the society and the inclusion of courses that concern Negro history and culture in the curriculum. |
