| Abstract: |
The article reports on the wide range of offerings for summer sessions initiated by several universities in the U.S. intended for college and university professors and advanced students. The programs which is mostly limited only to a single course or two or only on the selected phase of field enable professionals to improve their in-service professional skills and for students to prepare for college teaching and administration. While other universities offer only selected courses, others such as Chicago and Columbia offer more comprehensive programs including basic or general courses on history and organization. |
