| Abstract: |
The article reports on a grant awarded to Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon to help plan library services to the Chinese, Slavic and Vietnamese communities in the area. The grant, valued at $42,107, came from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act. The funds will be used to carry out a needs assessment that will guide the library in developing culturally competent services for county residents who speak Chinese, Vietnamese and Slavic languages. |
