Abstract: The article focuses on the use of programed instruction in education. It is a false assumption of teachers that programed instruction does not aim at the primary goals of education. Other misbeliefs regarding programed instruction include concerns related to curriculum revision, teaching methods and adaptation of instruction to individual differences. It should be noted that there can be no comparison between programed instruction and conventional classroom instruction. Programed instruction helps a student in changing what he says or does, which is the very goal of education. It also helps in determining the prerequisite experiences needed for every new learning. Improvements in teaching methods can be acquired by doing research in programed instruction. Though some changes need to be done in instructional materials to make them adaptive to individual differences.
