Abstract: The article discusses how cultural diversity should be treated by teachers and legislative bodies to obtain a successful special education. The author identifies the three aspects that can determine the success of failure of special education and these include culture, oppression and the term minority for group identification. According to the author, the special educator is tasked to show how the culture of the child can be used for learning without having to suppress the child's native cultural inclinations.
