| Abstract: | The article reports on the partnership of MAD Dragon Records with Rykodisc label The singer-songwriter Matt Duke is moving up in the world -- and he's taking students from Drexel University with him. Mr. Duke was discovered in the fall of 2003 by a Drexel student, who brought a cassette tape of the then-teenager to a class in the university's music-industry program. The artist eventually released an album through the university's student-run record company, MAD Dragon Records. Now Mr. Duke, 23, is upstreaming -- moving to a larger label. Even so, students will continue to promote him through a partnership their company has with that label, Rykodisc. |
