Abstract: The article reports on the effects of technological change on the publishing industry in the U.S. It states that the accelerating technological change has undeniable effect on the future and it is evident in publishing industry because of alterations of technology. It explains that writers will still write, and readers will read, but for publishers to make money in an era of free content on-demand, they require new levels of creativity. Moreover, the paper gleans insights from Tim O'Reilly, Douglas Rushkoff, and other thinkers in this rapidly changing field.
