| Abstract: | The article provides information on the musical studies, whose extensive association with amateur musical engagements is in no small part a function of the profound neglect by music educators and music education. The author stated that portrayals of music and schooling in the films School of Rock and Rock School has been argued to provide context in which music educator-practitioners may usefully reflect on aspects of their own theory and practice. The author suggests that films offer a kind of model for the teaching of non-learned musics like rock. |
