| Abstract: | The article discusses the impact of technological innovations towards special education and teacher preparation in the U.S. The author stated that technology has the potential to level the playing field for students with disabilities since the new word processing platforms have built-in voice software, combined with the introduction of National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standards (NIMAS). In addition, the virtual teaching environment aims to positively impact teacher recruitment, preparation and retention in education by allowing teachers to hone their skills with virtual children. |
