| Abstract: |
An essay is presented on adult non-singers. Adult non-singers are defined as individuals who have designated themselves as physically incapable of succeeding in the simplest musical tasks. It offers a narrative experience of five adult non-singers including Cheri, Sara and Cheryl to illustrate reasons why they do not sing. The author suggests that negative comments by music teachers in childhood singing experiences are connected to how these children see themselves as singers in later life. |
