Abstract: Chapter III of the book "Useful Theory: Making Critical Education Practical." It examines how the youth in the U.S. are becoming marginalized because they are often ignored. If this trend is to continue, it warns that there is the potential for irreparable consequences. It also argues that through critical education, students can go to the center of their education that will give them a sense of ownership of their learning. It concludes that students have the capacity to be agents in society but would need teachers to guide them.
