| Abstract: | Chapter 5 of the book "Power and Voice in Research With Children," edited by Lourdes Diaz Soto and Beth Blue Swadener is presented. It argues that adults can explore the meaning of events in imagined spaces by sharing authority while playing with children. In his role as father-researcher, the author reported that he recognized that teachers and parents had different interpretations of the nature and value of play at home and in school. The study is described as interpretive, reflective and refractive. |
