Abstract: An essay is presented on introducing exegesis or helping students know how a reader can read texts with the observation, interpretation, dialogue, and application (OIDA) method. It focuses on teaching the methods of biblical interpretation. It states that observation means collecting data from the text, interpretation helps in understanding the details of the text, dialogue helps students in gathering inputs from other sources and ideas, and application means merging the text with actual life.
