Abstract: The article focuses on the educational methods used by the researchers to identify and evaluate ethnically diverse gifted children in the U.S. These methods include the Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices, the Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities Test (NNAT) and the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS). The author emphasizes that Raven's test encountered some problem on Flynn effect wherein the scores on intelligence tests gradually inflate in over time. It found that the methods are more difficult than merely picking the right test for ethnically diverse gifted students and the programs.
