Abstract: The article explores the intellectual life of young Algerian-born poet Jean Sénac and his relations with French Algerian author and philosopher Albert Camus. It cites Sénac's activities and ties with militants involved in Algerian nationalist circles in Algeria and France. The differences and tension between Camus and Sénac which started when Sénac became more involved in the nationalist movement is discussed.
