Abstract: The article focuses on the early closure of a pilot program funded by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), which help lower-income families with their child care costs, which prompted parents to pay back 500 British pounds. The scheme will end in September 2010, nine months earlier than scheduled. According to Michelle Burke, a single parent of a child with Asperger's syndrome, they were asked to pay back the money given in advance for child care costs.
